Mother’s Love

AIDS Care for Children in China Program
Located in Nanning, Guangxi Province, China, Mother’s Love has cared and nurtured for over 1,400 babies and children found for adoptive homes since 1995. We also provide a permanent home for some children with significant special needs. Over the years, we have come to enjoy a reputation within China for pioneering high quality models of orphanage care, foster care, special needs care and adoption, and for training hundreds of local workers and assisting other Chinese institutions to carry out this work themselves.

In response to changing social needs, Mother’s Love has embarked on a new mission since 2008 to provide love, residence, counseling, and medical support to infants and children with HIV/AIDs, and to HIV-positive mothers with babies. The Mother’s Love AIDS Care for Children project focuses on Guangxi, South China, which has the second highest rate of AIDS with close to 70,000 infected, including well over 1,000 children. Going beyong nurturing, a normal home setting and educational opportunities for young children, Mother’s Love also aspires to establish pioneering models for the care of AIDS children in China. Through systematic training of local Chinese AIDS caregivers and local NGOs, institutions, and hospitals, we hope that Mother’s Love’s quality services and best practices will be reproduced across the country to reach thousands of patients and children impacted by the AIDs epidemic.
