Mother’s Hope is strategically located in Dimapur, Nagaland in the north eastof India and registered under “Societies Registration Act 1860”, Government of Nagaland Home Department.
Mother’s Hope was opened in 2001 to provide a home for young unwed pregnant women facing crisis pregnancies. Over the years, it has expanded and now provides services of Counseling, Baby Care, Local Adoption, Rehabilitation, Awareness Program, and a Craft Work Center.
The work of Mother’s Hope has been to pioneer addressing and meeting the specific need of young girls/women, and babies in need of homes. Mother’s Hope is grateful for the strong support from the Government, His Excellency the Governor of Nagaland and the Honorable Chief Minster of Nagaland.
Through nine pioneering years and the generous support of partners and supporters, Mother’s Hope has acquired land and built a permanent place of dwelling to house its services.
Aiming to serve as a model of service, current goals of Mother’s Hope are:
- Investing in long-term staff with skills and trainings,
- Recruiting long-term volunteers from the community, training them to educate the community in connection to health, reproductive health and available resources
- Networking with the Government, NGOs working in the field of women and children, locally, nationally and internationally.
- Giving talks in leadership schools/training centers within and outside the state, to encourage the vision and the need to start similar centres in other parts of India.
