Jennifer Bao Yu "Precious Jade" Jue-Steuck is a Chinese adoptee from California, born in Taipei to a birthmother from Jiangsu Province, China. She founded Chinese Adoptee Links (CAL) International. A freelance writer, Jennifer contributes to Conde Nast Publications (NYC), St. Martin's Press (NYC), Oxford University Press, and the MIT Press, among others. Jennifer's magazine column G2 "Global Girls - Global Generations" highlights the voices of adopted teens around the world in MEI Magazine and Adoption Today Magazine. A Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Comparative Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, Jennifer is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and Harvard University.
Chinese Adoptee Links (CAL) International is the first global organization created by Chinese adoptees of all ages, with members from Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, and around the world. Their mission is to create a multigenerational social network for the 120,000+ Chinese adoptees living in 26 countries worldwide. Their vision is to use this network to give back to the greater community ("bridging") through Global Generations, Incorporated (mentorship, career development, service projects).
