On 30 May, we proudly hosted the ‘Celebrating Milestones in Foster Care’ event, bringing together foster families, community partners, faith communities, schools, churches, corporates and the government to honour the dedication of everyone who has supported foster care over the years and to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Project Bridge. Guests were warmly engaged throughout the day, sharing smiles, stories, and laughter as they celebrated the collective achievements of the past decade.

Sky Siu

Sky Siu, CEO of Mother’s Choice, delivered an inspiring speech emphasising how Project Bridge complements the ordinary foster care service by opening the door for a wider variety of families to participate in fostering and by strengthening the broader community of care. Sky also thanked partners for their invaluable contributions in recruiting foster parents, offering volunteer support, sharing resources, and building community support networks.

Brett Hilliard, Kate Gower and Melody Chan

The first panel discussion of the event, ‘It Takes a Village’, brought together Kate Gower, Principal of Bradbury School; Brett Hilliard, Senior Pastor of Island Evangelical Community Church; and Melody Chan, Business Director of Havas Hong Kong, who shared perspectives on community support, partnership and the collective role everyone can play in strengthening foster care.

Jackie, Sam and Carol

The second panel, ‘From Awareness to Action’, featured foster parents Sam, Carol and Jackie from Project Bridge, who candidly discussed their experiences, challenges and the joys of fostering children.

Kit Ying Chan

The event concluded with a heartfelt call to action from Kit Ying Chan, Mother’s Choice Community Ambassador, encouraging all attendees to continue supporting foster care and to work together in building a foster-family friendly society.
