Kanice, Anita and Jimmy

Caring for every foster child comes with different challenges, but each child also brings different moments of joy to the family.

Anita and Jimmy became foster parents through Mother’s Choice Project Bridge several years ago. Since then, they have cared for five children. They were recently interviewed by CBN Hong Kong to share their fostering journey. For them, it’s deeply moving and joyful to witness each foster child grow step by step, even through something as simple as learning to turn a light switch on and off.

When they first attended a Mother’s Choice information session, they learned that some children were left waiting in hospitals or residential care, with little to do except stare at the ceiling each day. Their hearts were deeply touched, and they decided to become foster parents. Throughout their fostering journey, their family and faith community have also walked alongside them as an important source of support.

In the programme, Kanice Ho, Assistant Manager, Children Services at Mother’s Choice, shared what matters most is a foster parent’s willingness to welcome a child with love, patience and care. We also consider factors such as the family’s living environment and financial situation, and provide foster families with comprehensive training and ongoing support, so they don’t walk this journey alone.

The programme was broadcast on 27 June. Click here to watch the full interview (Chinese only).
