Whenever a child turns around and sees that you are still there, it gives them a tremendous sense of security.
From volunteering at the Mother’s Choice Child Care Home to becoming respite foster parents through Project Bridge, Stephanie and her husband Jack have always hoped to bring love and security to more children in need.
In an interview with HoMemory, they shared their experiences as a foster family. Whenever a child stays at their home in Sai Kung, they not only experience the warmth of family life, but also have opportunities to connect with nature and enjoy the countryside.
As respite foster parents, Stephanie and Jack regularly welcome different children into their home for short stays, bringing extra energy and joy to the family. Their birth son has also learnt to share and care for others. Providing a child with a loving home can be simple, yet deeply meaningful. As Stephanie shared, “When you give a child a hug, both arms are conveying love, and the child can feel it.”
