Children in our Child Care Home receive highly individualized care on a daily basis, including regular outings to support their social, emotional and physical health, and development. A monthly gift of HKD50 ensures a baby receives daily feeding and care essentials, supporting a healthy start in life in our Child Care Home.

Pregnant teens who come to Mother’s Choice have travelled a hard road and their decision to seek safe shelter and care can be life-changing for them. A gift of HKD250 gives a child in our care the chance to enjoy an outing and experience meaningful childhood moments.

Our Child Care Home is one way that we provide loving, temporary care to children waiting for families. A gift of HKD500 supports a day of nutritious meals for 25 toddlers in our Child Care Home, contributing to their daily growth and wellbeing.

Kai and Marion celebrate 25 years together!
Marion and Kai asked for gifts to celebrate their 25th anniversary and raised HK$56,000!
What did you do?
Marion and I celebrated 25 years since we first started dating as high school sweethearts! We held a big party and invited our friends from all over the world. We decided to ask our guests to donate to Mother’s Choice in lieu of presents, and on the night I gave a speech to share about our journey with Mother’s Choice.
Why did you do it?
It was a night to celebrate our relationship and our family, and we could not think of anything material that would make us happier than we already are. Mother’s Choice is very close to our hearts as our eldest son was cared for by Mother’s Choice before we adopted him. We spent a lot of time at Mother’s Choice and saw the great work of all the staff and volunteers.
What fundraising advice would you give to others?
Tell your friends why you are passionate about your chosen charity. At our party, I gave a speech about the work of Mother’s Choice. It must have been an inspiring speech, as one guest then went onto our JustGiving page to donate an extra $10,000! The website was very simple to use, and we sent a message to our friends to direct them to the website.
Leonie’s Mongolian Ultra-Marathon
Leonie did a sponsored 3-day ultra-marathon in Mongolia and raised HK$8,000!
What did you do?
I don’t know what I was thinking, but I signed up to run an ultra-marathon! Over three days, I ran 100km over desert, dry rock, and sand dunes in the Mongolian countryside and stayed in tents each night.
Why did you do it?
I am so lucky to have three amazing and beautiful children whom I love more than words can say, and I find the thought that so many children live in a world without such love and protection heart breaking. Doing the run was made easier by the knowledge that I knew I was achieving some good at the same time.
What fundraising advice would you give to others?
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and totally secure. You can tell your friends that their details are safe with JustGiving as they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. It saves time and money for Mother’s Choice, because it’s so efficient!
Alison hosted a sponsored walk!

What did you do?
At Baby Buddies and Alison’s Letterland Kindergarten, we are always thinking of new ways to support Mother’s Choice, including cake stalls, school scholarships, and toy sales. This year, we encouraged all of our students and families to walk together for Mother’s Choice and raised over $60,000!
Why did you do it?
Our daughter was adopted from Mother’s Choice, and so it will always hold a very special place in our hearts as we are so grateful for the love and care she was given as a baby. We cannot think of a more wonderful place to raise money for and support the children.
What fundraising advice would you give to others?
Choose a charity that you are passionate about, then choose an event or activity that your friends and family will enjoy so that you can encourage them to join you!
Ella’s 11th Birthday Party
Ella asked for donations instead of presents for her 11th birthday and raised HK$80,000!
What did you do?
(Ella’s mom says) Ella reached out to family and friends and asked them to give a gift to Mother’s Choice instead of a birthday gift.
Why did you do it?
Ella has witnessed that I have been active over the past few years in supporting Mother’s Choice, and we have had many conversations at home about how we admire the work Mother’s Choice are doing with babies and girls in Hong Kong. Ella thought it would be meaningful to fundraise for her birthday, and we were very pleased because giving is a value that we uphold as a family.
What fundraising advice would you give to others?
Sometimes it is too easy for parents to take the lead in these kind of fundraising activities, but the best thing I did was to make sure we involved Ella from the very beginning and encourage her in all of her ideas. We shot a video of Ella explaining her birthday idea, and then we sent it to our friends and family. On Ella’s birthday, she presented a cheque to Mother’s Choice, and also a painting which is now hanging in the Child Care Home. We are so proud of her willingness to share what she has with other children.
