On September 22, 2024, Mother’s Choice held its highly-anticipated Family Benefit, a special event that brings whole families together to raise funds and help children without families and pregnant teenagers in Hong Kong. Founded in 1987, Mother’s Choice has, for over 30 years, provided pregnant girls with counseling and hostel stays, as well as taken care of babies and young children through its child care, adoption and foster care services.
This year’s Mother’s Choice Family Benefit was themed the Jungle of Hope, which saw the ballroom at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel completely transformed into a wildlife haven with lush foliage and exotic life. This year’s benefit also marks new CEO Sky Siu’s first official event since she took the helm in August this year.
The afternoon was chock full of activities to delight little ones – from activity stalls right outside the ballroom with lucky draws and games, to a non-stop programme of performances by our city’s young talents. Over a scrumptious lunch, guests and patrons are treated to a dance by adorable dancers from BallroomBees!, an electrifying musical interlude by Crisel Consunji and Roy Rolloda, a Jungle of Hope Musical by young members of the Creative Collab, and a Kid’s Fashion Show in partnership with Retykle.
Through pledges, a silent auction and a live auction, over HK$1.1 million was raised. The funds will go to help realize Mother’s Choice’s hopeful vision of seeing every child in a loving family and help improve its facilities and services in its Child Care Home.
