At Mother’s Choice, ‘choice’ is very important.  We believe every girl should make her own decisions about her pregnancy and not face the crisis alone.  Here are two heartfelt letters from our girls.  They share their choices with their children and show how our work can change their life stories and their futures.

From the mother of Ivan:

Time moves quickly!  I am now 20 years old, and my son Ivan is nearly 2 years old.  When I see how cute and lovely my son is, I know I made the right decision to go to Mother’s Choice.  Looking back at the time I spent at Mother’s Choice, I always thought of my decisions for the baby’s sake.  For two months, I thought deeply.  I asked myself if I would be a responsible mother.

I knew that adoptive parents would love my baby and provide a comfortable life for him.  But which decision would be the best one?  After deep consideration, my boyfriend and I thought we could provide for our son.  If we worked hard, we could make it.  So, I decided to parent my baby, I do not regret the decision I made at Mother’s Choice to keep my son.

To my dearest Daughter, (from your 13-year-old mother)

When I found out I was pregnant with you, I was so happy and sad at the same time.  Happy because I love children and wanted to see you grow up and sad because I was only a 13-year-old kid.  Your grandmother discovered my pregnancy.

They didn’t scold me, and they were excited about your coming.  After that I moved to Mother’s Choice to stay until I gave birth to you. Grandpa, grandma and I, all really miss you, but we chose adoption because we wanted the best for you.

Mummy’s birthday is in November, your father’s is in June and yours is in April.  My clearest memory of you is when you cried because you hardly ever cried. Every time I picked you up you would look so sweetly at me with your big eyes.  You were adorable!

I hope you can grow up healthily and happily.  I hope you have a great life with your adoptive parents.  I wish you good health, that you have a life full of joy and that you will be a good child.

Your loving mother
