“We’re close not because of adoption, but because we’re a family,” said adoptive mother Diana Kwok. “Building a family doesn’t have to be through blood ties. Adoption is a wonderful choice too.”

In this Sing Tao feature, Diana shared that the meaning of family lies not in blood, but in love, care and connection. Around 20 years ago, her family welcomed their one-year-olddaughter home. Since then, they have walked alongside one another, grown together, and supported her as she explored her life story. Diana is also a member of the Mother’s Choice Adoption Committee, helping to promote adoption services and support other adoptive families.

Carmen Lam (left in the photo), our Assistant Director, Case Management, has witnessed many children form deep bonds with their adoptive parents and grow up surrounded by love. Mother’s Choice provides a range of resources, including workshops and peer support, to accompany adoptive families throughout their adoption journey.
